This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). The Post (band)
editThe Post was an American indie rock band from Bloomington, Indiana, active from 1999 to 2013. Known for their experimental sound and introspective lyrics, the band released three studio albums that explored themes of despair, isolation, and resilience.[1]
History
editThe Post was formed in 1999 by frontman Oliver Boch, bassist Brent Gubatan, and drummer Ben Swanson. Swanson is the co-founder of the independent record labels Secretly Canadian, Jagjaguwar, and Dead Oceans, which have played a pivotal role in shaping the indie music scene.[2]
Musical Style
editThe Post’s music combined elements of post-punk, experimental rock, and electronic music. Critics highlighted their atmospheric instrumentation and emotive lyrics, with influences ranging from Joy Division and Mogwai to Nick Cave.[3] The band’s use of unconventional song structures and moody textures distinguished them within the indie music scene.[4]
