  • Nick Frost recently sat down ‘in conversation’ with LHS Gallery Director Myles Corley for our latest interview.
    .
We are delighted that Nick will be exhibiting as part of our Winter Group Show, which opens on Saturday, December 2nd.
    .
The Winter Group Show is our biggest exhibition of the year, and certainly a highlight of our exhibition programme. Spread across both floors, the exhibition features a variety of works across the entire spectrum of visual art made by established names and emerging talent.
    .
    .
Nick Frost is an English actor, comedian and screenwriter. He has appeared in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy of films, consisting of Shaun of the Dead , Hot Fuzz , and The World’s End , and the television comedy Spaced (amongst many others). He co-starred in the film Paul, which he co-wrote with frequent collaborator and best friend Simon Pegg.
    .
This year he released his latest book, A Slice of Fried Gold ; a mix of recipe, memoir and digressions from one of Britain’s most loved actors and writers.

Awesome conversation! Nick echoes many of my thoughts around creating art, and has inspired me to get back into the studio tonight after a long break. Thank you 👍

I think Nick Frost just diagnosed me with ADD at the age of 52! How he described the cacophony of thoughts is me, the thousand voices in the head; everything he said.

one such thought being 'gay as…' commenting thus on a charity fight I did that helped me raise cash to keep supplying and ultimately rebuild disaster-struck villages. It must be a bleak, featureless desert in that head of yours, old boy!
But I'm Ukrainian army now, after a year's volunteer food relief in East Ukraine, so no fear: you can comment 'gay as' or some other such fitting eulogy for me when the times comes. But when you do, remember who I was, and who you are. No prisoners. No surrender. ¡No pasarán!

@@PoetwarriorFletch Back in your box grasshopper ;) How goes it young "Fletchspeare"? The fact you openly sully the name of such an author gives me clues as to your ever expanding ego ;) I thought you'd killed it with psychedelics and ladyboys? ;)
Glad you are propping up the Ukranian nazi propaganda/war machine/corporate military industrial complex through grappling with men in shorts. If it makes you happy, then I'm happy.
You will always be "gay as" to me tho. For I'm the true stoic, not the sort to bend the knee to my ego nor yours ;)
I also happen to know that the Ukranian "war" is a total money laundering op.
If you want to lose another fight to me, give me a call lol.
Love you Fletch, always have, always will. x
P.S. To the passive reader of these comments - young Fletch didn't realise, I'm an old friend of his. I'm not being a kunt to a stranger ;)

@@PoetwarriorFletch So you delete my comments from your videos? Fletch old chap, that's not the move of a stoic. You should take me head on. Anyway, how can I reach you? I want to call you? WTF are you doing fighting for the Ukrainian army? You're a wreckhead from Leeds?!!!

There's a huge problem out there with many artists who simply believe that they are no good.......and, myself and a friend of mine are two of them, it's a big problem. In recent years I seem to be getting through it.....DESTROYING the wall, like Nick seems to have done.....And, I understand why the art therapist would say what they said to him. You also shouldn't forget "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" which means "beauty cannot be judged objectively, for what one person finds beautiful or admirable may not appeal to another." So....Nick is actually wrong about the incredibly detailed painting of a mountain...because there are people out there who will love it....who will buy it...who will cherish it....and so on and so fourth....lol. The therapist said nothing was wrong...so the mountain is not wrong either. Its ok though, hes human and I say a bunch of silly things daily too. I feel bad now coming in here and focusing on that, so I will now focus on what i thought was great.....its VERY interesting to me listening to him talk because I am 42 and seem to be going through the same thing with regards to am agreeing with him about how Its getting tiring to be so negative about ones own work...."mentally sick, not being proud, negative self esteem, and its really destructive eventually."....that is exactly it.

Whenever I draw anything on my iPad, it’s always too nice and clean looking. But I want to make it messy and grim, but for some reason, I can’t make myself do it.
